Interns can join for one or more of our week-long modules. These are in-depth training in conservation and marine ecology. Each Module is 6 days of diving, skills and fun! Discounts available for enrolling in multiple modules:

For longer programs, students may consider combining multiple modules with the PADI Divemaster course in the joint SCIENTIFIC DIVER / PADI DIVEMASTER PROGRAM. The prerequisites for the Scientific Diver Internship programs are Rescue Diver with 30 logged dives.

Marine Ecology module - July 2019.
The week starts with an in-depth "Introduction to Marine Ecology" lecture which ties in knowledge specific to the areas you will be diving in the Nusa Penida Marine Park. Each day then includes specific task-orientated diving and lectures in topics from coral health, tropical reef fish identification, and manta ray conservation. Certifications include PADI Fish ID, & Coral Reef Conservation.
Reef Health Monitoring module - July 2019
Learn about several survey techniques used to monitor coral reef health. Including Coral Watch & Reef Check scientific survey techniques. Certifications include Reef Check, Coral Watch & PADI Research Diver.
Coral Restoration Module - August 2019
This program is conducted as a workshop in which you take part in Blue Corner Marine Research's ongoing coral restoration project. During this week you will learn techniques in coral propogation, monitor nursery corals and transplant corals onto modular reef structures. Certification includes PADI Coral Restoration Diver
Mantas, Sharks & Marine Megafauna - August 2019
Week-long conservation module focusing on Manta Rays, Sharks, Marine Turtles and other megafauna. Part of Blue Corner Marine Research’s conservation internship program on Nusa Lembongan
During this week students go through safety standards for working underwater. Topics include advanced dive planning, dive accident managment, risk assessment and use of specialized dive equipment. This week is heavy in diving theory with emphasis on decompression theory, physics and physiology of diving.
