In an ever changing world, Nusa Lembongan is evolving too! And thankfully it’s for the best. With options galore at our finger tips as well as accommodation booking platforms, picking a hotel can be an overwhelming task! Having spent 5 years on the island I have seen a few come and go, some have stayed the duration and there are some new and exciting places that have prompted this blog.

One of the main questions I get asked is “where can I stay long term, on a limited budget?” and here I have listed a few of my favourite places and given information on the amenities that people require of their accommodation most often.

First up: Hot water showers are overrated!! You pay a premium here on Lembongan for this and you will rarely use it! I know that when in Europe, for example, there is nothing I want more than a hot shower. The beautiful weather and humidity here means you will welcome a cool shower. And let’s face it, in tropical climates the shower water is far from cold!

Second up: Who needs a kitchen anyway?! Enjoy buying a home cooked local dish for as little as $1!

It might be helpful to remember that whilst we are in our home countries, dreaming of our tropical adventure, we feel the urge to plan. Feel free to contact these accommodations ahead of time but it is probably easier to find a place, and a good price, when you arrive…..let’s not forget, a little bit of courtesy and charm goes a long way in a face to face meeting!
