Marine Ecology & Coral Reefs Module (May 2024)

This week-long program focuses on learning all about marine life together with our marine biologists! This is the first week of our Conservation internship program and is scheduled for the first week of each month. The week starts with an in-depth "Introduction to Marine Ecology" lecture which ties in knowledge specific to the areas you will be diving in the Nusa Penida Marine Park. Each day then includes specific task-orientated diving and lectures in topics from coral health, tropical reef fish identification, and marine conservation. This week-long course is a great course for any diving wanting to learn more about coral reefs - also a great add-on to any dive course.

Prerequisites:

  • Certified Diver with good buoyancy

Includes:

  • "Marine Ecology" textbook & materials

  • 12 DIVES

Certifications:

  • Project Aware Coral Conservation

For Divers wishing to complete the Reef Health Monitoring Week, this is a prerequisite week to learn species identification for the surveys.
