Blue Corner Marine Research has established an extensive coral restoration project which is the longest running and largest coral restoration project in the Nusa Pendia Marine Park. This huge project requires the help of passionate ocean enthusiasts!

Apply to one of our Coral Reef Conservation Internships for an exciting opportunity to learn from renowned experts while working side-by-side with our restoration team. Intakes for our internship programs happen several times throughout the year.

Training Programs

Blue Corner Marine Research offers internship programs and training courses at our research base on Nusa Lembongan island, Bali.

Interns are welcome to apply for any of our week-long training programs in marine conservation. We offer 5 different intensive modules:

Interns wishing to complete their PADI Divemaster course can apply for our extended Scientific Divemaster Program.

Help the Reef - Support Coral Restoration

Help the reef by donating to coral restoration efforts. You can pay for a coral restoration frame (or multiple frames) to be built and installed at the coral restoration site in Nusa Penida. Then our scientific diving team will transplant corals upon the frames on your behalf!

We are trying many coral restoration techniques including the "Coralclip" from @coralnurtureprogram These clips allow coral fragments to be secured onto stable substrates such as rock. It eliminates the need for using plastic cable ties or other potentially adverse materials. 🪸🔨💪 #coralgardening #coralrestoration #coralclips #restorationecology #generationrestoration

Coated rebar frames allow for a stable substrate to plant coral upon in degraded rubble areas of reef. The frames need to be lightweight enough to be installed easily by divers, yet sturdy enough that they stay anchored in strong currents. Young coral transplants need a stable base above the rubble so that they don't become buried. Want to join us restoring reefs?
